Emergency Mass Alert System Unveiled

Friday, August 27, 2010

The City's new C3 Emergency Mass Alert System takes advantage of the latest technologies to reach residents and businesses with important messages regarding emergencies and public safety.

Paid for by a Homeland Security Grant, the Mass Alert System is free and allows residents to register in the medium of their choice – landline phone, email, or cell phone. The Mass Alert Systen also allows users to invite family and friends on to the service, allowing them to build their own personal emergency network. Users can even register their household as a special needs home.

Go to http://jerseycitynj.gov/, scroll down to City News for more information and to sign up for the Emergency Mass Alert System.

Whether it’s a water main break or an evacuation, this system will help keep you and your loved ones informed, and help give you peace of mind.
