The Historic Downtown Special Improvement District is a public-private partnership through which property owners and business owners have a direct impact on Historic Downtown Jersey City neighborhoods and their development. HDSID works with local businesses, property owners and neighborhood associations in conjunction with the City government to promote the area, improve the services provided and undertake any and all activity to make Historic Downtown Jersey City a better place to live, work and visit.

HCA has received some clarification from HDSID regarding proposed expansion of the SID zone. There are two main points:

First, the portion of the expansion that is in our neighborhood will no longer involve Bay Street, but is now slated to extend only from Newark Avenue to Erie & First Streets.

Second, we have been given assurances by HDSID’s Executive Director that residents should not pay any additional costs for HD SID’s activities, but that any assessments is borne by businesses within the zone.
